## This guide explains what a Kynector is, how Kynectors support members, and when to involve and find a Kynector.
**What is a Kynector?**
Kynectors are certified enrollment assisters in Kentucky who help individuals access and maintain healthcare coverage, benefits, and community resources.
They are trained through Kentucky’s healthcare marketplace system and commonly work within community organizations, clinics, hospitals, shelters, outreach programs, and FQHCs.
### **How Kynectors Support Members**
Kynectors can assist members with:
- 📝Medicaid enrollment
- 🔄Medicaid renewals
- ❓Benefit questions
- 🛡️Coverage verification
- 🛍️ SNAP Assistance
- ❤️ Referrals to healthcare or social service resources
They often serve as a critical connection point between members and healthcare access.
### **When to Involve a Kynector**
Consider involving a Kynector when a member:
- Does not currently have health coverage
- Needs help applying for or renewing benefits
- Is having trouble completing an application
- Has questions about available benefit programs
- Needs help navigating the kynect system
- Could benefit from additional healthcare or community resource support
Organizations may also partner with Kynectors for enrollment events, onsite assistance days, outreach activities, and community education sessions.
### **Local Kynector Support vs. Kynect On Demand**
#### **Find Local Kynector**
Using the “Find a Kynector” option can be especially beneficial for organizations or members looking to build an ongoing relationship with a local Kynector. Local Kynectors may provide more consistent follow-up, county-specific resource knowledge, recurring support, and assistance with onsite enrollment events, outreach activities, and community partnerships beyond one-time enrollment needs.

### **Kynect On Demand**
**Need Immediate Help? Use kynect On Demand**
If a member needs quick help enrolling in benefits or speaking with a Kynector, organizations can use Kentucky’s kynect On Demand program. Kynect On Demand is best for immediate member assistance, one-time enrollment support, quick benefit questions, or situations where an organization does not already have an established Kynector contact.

After submitting a request, a Kynector will contact the individual by phone, text, or email. During normal business hours, response times are often within 30 minutes, depending on availability.
